Two-door JL owners get overlooked by the armor market, so Artec Industries cut this Alpha Series kit (JL4196) specifically for the short-wheelbase Wrangler. It covers the fuel tank and transfer case with 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum, and it goes further than a simple plate: an integrated fuel-tank strap eliminates tank drop under hard hits, and an engineered crossmember stiffens the rear underbody so the whole assembly works as one rigid, flat surface. With the shorter wheelbase breaking over obstacles more aggressively than a JLU, that flat belly earns its keep.

Does this fit 4-door Wranglers?
No. This kit is cut for the 2-door JL wheelbase and tank layout, 2018 and up, with the 3.6L or 2.0L engine. Four-door owners should use the JLU 4-door T-Case & Fuel Skid, which matches the longer underbody.
What does the fuel-tank strap actually do?
It cradles the tank so a hard hit to the skid cannot knock the tank loose or let it sag. Combined with the engineered crossmember, it keeps the rear belly rigid and flat instead of flexing under impact.
What else do I need for full coverage?
This section protects the fuel tank and transfer case. Add the matching JL oil skid with oil door to cover the oil and transmission pans at the front of the belly, and the underside is fully armored.
