Nighthawk Front Swaybar Skid for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2026
The electronic sway bar disconnect on a JL Rubicon is one of the most expensive parts hanging in the rock line, and from the factory it sits wide open below the front bumper. Artec's Nighthawk Front Swaybar Skid (JL5304) tucks a fully welded 3/16" steel guard over that actuator and the factory frame extensions, part of the Nighthawk armor line for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU (2018+). Unlike its JK counterpart, this version installs on the frame horns themselves: you drill two holes, set nutserts with the included tool, and bolt the skid up. It is the piece that lets you stop babying the front end on ledgy climbs.

Is any drilling required to install it?
Yes. The skid bolts on, but you drill two holes in the frame horns and set nutserts to anchor the bolts. Artec includes the nutserts and the setting tool with the hardware, so the job needs only common hand tools and a drill beyond what is in the box.
Will it fit my JL if it is not a Rubicon?
The skid fits the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU (2018+) and is aimed primarily at models with the electronic front sway bar disconnect, since that actuator is what it protects. It is not compatible with Mojave editions running Fox reservoir shocks. It still covers the factory frame extensions on other trims.
Does it come painted, and do I need an Artec bumper?
It ships in bare steel, so prime and paint or powder coat it before installation to match your build. It is styled as part of the Nighthawk armor line and pairs with the Nighthawk front bumpers — it mounts to the frame horns, so it complements the bumper rather than replacing any of it.
