Nighthawk Front Swaybar Skid for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018
On a Jeep Wrangler JK, the electronic sway-bar disconnect and the factory frame extensions hang low behind the front bumper, right where a ledge or rock shelf can find them. The Nighthawk Front Swaybar Skid (JK2305) closes off that gap with a fully welded 3/16" steel guard that bolts to the frame extensions beneath an Artec Nighthawk front bumper. It is built for JK and JKU owners running the Nighthawk system who want the Rubicon's disconnect actuator — an expensive part to replace — out of harm's way. This is a companion piece to the bumper, not a standalone universal skid.
Features
- 3/16" steel, CNC laser cut and formed
- Fully welded assembly arrives as one piece, ready to bolt on
- Shields the electronic sway-bar disconnect and the factory frame extensions
- Purpose-built to integrate with Artec's Nighthawk front bumper for the JK
- Mounting hardware included
- Made in the USA
Fits the Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU (2007-2018) and requires an Artec Nighthawk front bumper to mount — verify your bumper before ordering. The skid ships in bare steel, so plan to prime and paint or powder coat it to match your armor. Pair it with the Nighthawk Front Bumper or the Nighthawk Stinger Front Bumper, add the Front Bumper Rock Guard for the bumper face, and browse more front bumpers and skid plates.
Nighthawk Front Swaybar Skid for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018 FAQs
Do I need an Artec bumper to install this skid?
Yes. It is designed as an add-on for the Artec Nighthawk front bumper system and bolts to the frame extensions beneath it. Both the standard Nighthawk Front Bumper and the Nighthawk Stinger version are compatible — it is not a standalone universal skid.
What exactly does it protect?
It shields the electronic sway-bar disconnect actuator — the costly unit fitted to JK Rubicons — along with the factory frame extensions under the front bumper. Both sit exposed to rock strikes on ledges and steep approaches when unguarded.
Does it arrive ready to bolt on?
Mechanically, yes: the skid is fully welded and ships as a single piece with mounting hardware included. It arrives in bare steel, though, so prime and paint or powder coat it before installation to keep rust away and match your bumper's finish.
