Ford 8.8 Swap Kit with Truss for Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ 1993-1998
The ZJ 8.8 Swap Kit gives a 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee everything needed on the axle side to run a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear end. The ZJ's factory Dana 35 is the weak link under bigger tires, and the disc-brake, 31-spline Explorer 8.8 is the classic budget fix — but only if the dozen mounts land in exactly the right spots. Here the brackets are jigged into a full-length truss, so the factory link, track bar, sway bar, coil, and shock positions are already set and the housing gets reinforced in the same pass. What would be a week of layout work becomes a straightforward weld-on job.
Features
- 1/4" mild steel truss and brackets, precision CNC cut and bent
- Every bracket for the swap: upper and lower control arm mounts, shock mounts, sway bar mounts, track bar mount, and coil spring mounts
- Jigged bracket-to-truss design sets positions automatically — remaining brackets line up to the truss
- Track bar mount offers the factory location and a raised location for lifted ZJs
- Full-length truss spans the axle tubes for reinforcement
- Factory link locations can be trimmed off later if you move to custom link geometry
- Made in the USA
This kit is designed around the Explorer-width 8.8, not full-width F-150 versions, and it reuses the ZJ's factory-style coil and link architecture at stock or lifted height — welding and fabrication experience is required for the install, and the bare brackets need paint once burned in. Wrangler running the same axle? See the TJ 8.8 Swap Kit with Truss or the trackbar-deleting Triangulated TJ 8.8 Swap Kit. All of our swap bracket packages live in the complete axle sets collection.
