UD60 Front APEX Truss for Ultimate Dana 60 (JK and JL/JT Versions)

$131.99

The Artec UD60 Front APEX Truss stiffens the Ultimate Dana 60 front housing so it shrugs off the flex and axle-tube spin that big tires and hard hits put into a 1-ton front end. The patented APEX peaked-top profile carries more rigidity than any flat-top truss while the 3/16" mild steel plate and dimpled lightening holes keep the whole part at just 7 lbs. CNC bending means it drops onto the axle ready to weld, with no multi-piece jigsaw to assemble. Two versions cover UD60 axles built for JK swaps and for JL/JT swaps.

Features

  • Patented APEX peaked-top profile for more rigidity than a flat-top truss
  • CNC precision laser cut in-house from 3/16" mild steel
  • Just 7 lbs, with dimpled holes that trim weight while adding strength
  • Prevents axle tube spin and adds housing rigidity under load
  • Drops onto the axle CNC-bent and ready to weld, no puzzle-piece assembly
  • Roughly 70% less welding than earlier truss designs, so less warping and labor
  • Low-profile height suits slightly lifted rigs; made in the USA

Choose the version that matches your axle: TR6063 for the JK-pattern Ultimate Dana 60 front and TR6064 for the JL/JT pattern. Installation is weld-on — MIG is fine with moderate preheating of the casting to around 400°F and a slow cooldown, so leave it to a competent welder. Setting up a linked front end? Add the APEX Front Truss Upper Link Mount for your link geometry, match the rear with the UD60 Rear APEX Short Truss, and browse the rest of our axle reinforcements.

UD60 Front APEX Truss for Ultimate Dana 60 (JK and JL/JT Versions) FAQs

Which version do I order, JK or JL/JT?

Match the truss to the platform your Ultimate Dana 60 front axle was built for: TR6063 fits UD60 front axles for Jeep Wrangler JK swaps, and TR6064 fits the JL/JT pattern. The two housings differ enough that the truss contours are cut separately, so confirm your axle before ordering.

Does the truss require welding?

Yes, it is a weld-on part. MIG welding works well with moderate preheating of the cast center to roughly 400°F and a slow post-weld cooldown to protect the casting. The pre-bent APEX design cuts total welding by about 70% versus older multi-piece trusses, but a competent welder should still run the job.

What problem does a front truss actually solve?

Big tires, lockers, and hard landings twist and bend a front housing, and can even spin the axle tubes in the cast center section. The APEX truss ties the housing together across the top so it resists that flex and tube spin, keeping alignment and gear mesh where they belong.
