Tube Armor 48 Inch Weld-On Tubing Protection

$43.99

Artec Tube Armor is a 48" length of CNC-bent 3/16" mild steel plate that welds over the round tubing on your rig — lower links, tie rods and drag links, rock slider tubes, or exposed cage sections. Rather than paying the weight and cost penalty of running thicker-wall tube everywhere, you armor only the sections that actually drag across rock. The bent plate takes the hits, and when it finally gets chewed up you cut it off and weld on a fresh piece while the tube underneath stays straight. It is a universal part for any Jeep, Toyota, Bronco, or custom build running 1.5" OD or larger tubing.

Features

  • CNC laser cut and CNC bent from 3/16" mild steel
  • 70-degree bend cradles round tubing from 1.5" OD and up
  • Adds section to the tube, so it stiffens the link or slider against bending while it shields it
  • Sacrificial by design — replace a beaten plate instead of re-tubing the whole link
  • Ships as a single 48" piece; trim to length or split it to cover two shorter runs
  • Lighter and cheaper than stepping up to heavier-wall tubing across the whole build
  • Raw steel finish, ready for paint or coating after welding

Check your tube OD before ordering — the bend is shaped for 1.5" and larger — then tack it in place and stitch weld along the tube. It ships in raw steel, so clean and paint or coat it once the welding is done. For plate protection at the axle itself, see the JK Apex Front Axle Armor Kit and JL-JT Inner C Gussets, or browse the full axle reinforcements collection and the rest of the Artec Industries lineup.

Tube Armor 48 Inch Weld-On Tubing Protection FAQs

What tube sizes does Tube Armor fit?

The 70-degree bend is formed to cradle round tubing from 1.5" OD and up, which covers most suspension links, tie rods, drag links, rock slider tubes, and cage members. It is not vehicle-specific — measure the outside diameter of the tube you want to protect and confirm it is at least 1.5".

How is it installed, and what do I do when it gets beaten up?

It is a weld-on part: tack it along the tube, then stitch weld it in place. The plate is sacrificial by design — once a section has taken enough abuse, cut it off and weld on a fresh piece rather than replacing the entire tube or link.

Can I cut it down, and does it need paint?

Yes on both counts. Each piece is a single 48" length meant to be trimmed to whatever run you need, and one piece can be split to armor two shorter sections. It ships in raw steel, so clean it and apply paint or coating after welding to keep rust away.
