The JL/JT APEX Front Axle Armor Kit is Artec Industries' complete reinforcement package for the factory front axle under a Jeep Wrangler JL or Gladiator JT. It bundles the APEX front truss with front lower-control-arm skids and inner C gussets, hitting the two spots that bend and crack on a hard-wheeled housing: the tube-to-center-section junction and the exposed front axle disconnect (FAD/CAD) area. Modeled from Dana Corp and Jeep 3D CAD data, the truss drops onto the housing ready to weld with no puzzle-piece assembly. It is built for owners pushing big tires who want the OEM axle to survive the abuse.

Pick your variant by axle: JL3110 for JL Sport/Sahara (Dana 30/M186); JL4510 for US/Canada JL Rubicon, all JT Rubicons, and JT Sport MaxTow; JL4511 for US/Canada JT Sport/Overland and non-US/Canada JL Rubicons. It does not fit Extreme Recon or Mojave front axles without modification, and it is not designed for aftermarket housings. Welding to the cast center and Cs calls for a competent welder with roughly 400°F preheat and a slow, blanket-wrapped cooldown, and Artec recommends at least a 1.5" lift with 1/2" bump-stop extensions for truss clearance. Which version fits my Jeep?

Match the SKU to your front axle: JL3110 fits JL Sport and Sahara (Dana 30/M186); JL4510 fits US/Canada JL Rubicons, all JT Rubicons, and JT Sport MaxTow; JL4511 fits US/Canada JT Sport/Overland and non-US/Canada JL Rubicons. Extreme Recon and Mojave front axles do not fit without modification, and aftermarket housings are not supported.

How demanding is the welding?

This kit welds to the cast center section and cast inner Cs, so it is a job for a competent welder. Artec recommends preheating the castings to roughly 400°F, relieving welds with a needle scaler or peening hammer, then post-heating and wrapping the axle so it cools slowly over 18-24 hours. A normal MIG welder is fine with that process.

Do I need a lift to run the truss?

Artec recommends at least a 1.5" lift plus 1/2" bump-stop extensions. The APEX truss is tallest over the differential, so a stock-height Jeep can contact it at full compression — check clearances before wheeling.
