The JK Apex Front Axle Ultimate Armor Kit is Artec's most complete reinforcement package for the front axle of the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU. Every known weak point on the housing gets addressed in one order: the patented Apex truss stiffens the tubes, heavy-duty lower control arm brackets and 1/4" shock brackets replace the thin factory stampings that bend and tear off, inner C gussets reinforce the knuckle area, and the Apex heavy-duty track bar bracket takes over for the failure-prone stock piece. Artec rates the setup for up to 37" tires on the stock Dana 30 or Dana 44, making it the straightforward path for JK owners who would rather armor the factory axle than swap it.

Order the Dana 44 version for Rubicon axles or the Dana 30 version for Sport and Sahara, then pick the track bar bracket height: stock suits smaller lifts running an adjustable track bar, while raised suits taller lifts set up with a drag link flip. Everything in the kit is weld-on, so plan on professional-grade MIG welding with the cast sections preheated to roughly 400 degrees and cooled slowly over 18-24 hours. What is the difference between this kit and the standard Armor Kit?
The Ultimate kit includes heavy-duty lower control arm brackets and 1/4" shock brackets on top of the truss, inner C gussets, and track bar bracket. The standard Armor Kit substitutes LCA skids for the HD brackets and leaves out the shock brackets. If your trails include hard hits that bend factory brackets, the Ultimate kit removes those failure points entirely.
Should I pick the stock or raised track bar bracket?
Choose stock height if you run a smaller lift with an adjustable track bar — geometry stays close to factory. Choose raised if you run a taller lift with a drag link flip, since the raised bracket restores the track bar angle to match. Both options are offered for the Dana 30 and Dana 44 versions.
Is this kit enough for 37s, or do I need an axle swap?
Artec rates the reinforced setup for up to 37" tires on the stock JK Dana 30 or Dana 44 housing. The truss stops the tubes from bending while the gussets and brackets protect the mounting points, which covers the most common housing failures short of shafts and gears. Everything welds on, so plan for experienced installation with the cast sections preheated and cooled slowly.
