Apex Front Axle Armor Kit for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018
The JK Apex Front Axle Armor Kit bundles the reinforcements most 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU front axles actually need: the patented Apex truss across the top of the housing, 1/4" LCA skids under the vulnerable lower control arm mounts, 1/4" inner C gussets at the knuckles, and the Apex heavy-duty track bar bracket. Factory JK housings flex and the stamped brackets grind away on rocks long before the gears give up; this kit stiffens the assembly and shields those contact points so the stock Dana 30 or Dana 44 can carry up to 37" tires with confidence. It sits between buying the truss alone and going to the Ultimate kit.

Match the kit to your axle, Dana 44 for Rubicon or Dana 30 for Sport and Sahara, and choose stock track bar height for mild lifts with an adjustable bar or raised height if your lift uses a drag link flip. What exactly comes in the kit?
You get the Apex front axle truss, 1/4" front LCA skids, 1/4" inner C gussets, and the Apex heavy-duty track bar bracket. All four pieces are weld-on steel. Shock brackets and heavy-duty LCA brackets are not included — those come in the Ultimate Armor Kit.
Which axle option do I order?
Pick Dana 44 Rubicon if your JK left the factory as a Rubicon, or Dana 30 for Sport and Sahara models — the truss and gussets are shaped to each housing. Then select the track bar bracket height: stock for smaller lifts running an adjustable track bar, raised for taller lifts with a drag link flip. The kit fits all 2007-2018 JK and JKU Wranglers.
How involved is the installation?
Every component welds to the housing, so this is a job for an experienced welder, and removing the axle from the Jeep is the recommended approach. The cast center section should be preheated to around 400 degrees and allowed to cool slowly over 18-24 hours to avoid cracking or warping. The pre-bent Apex truss itself needs roughly 70% less weld length than older designs.
