Front Axle Lower Truss for Ford Super Duty F-250/F-350 2005-2010
The Ford SuperDuty Front Axle Lower Truss reinforces the underside of the 2005-2010 F-250 and F-350 front axle, where high-speed desert miles and jump landings bend housings from below. Built from 1/4" mild steel and CNC cut and bent, it ties the axle together from inner-C to inner-C so the whole tube is braced, not just the center section. The triangular lower profile adds rigidity while letting the axle skid over rocks instead of catching on them, and it gives up zero ground clearance under the cast differential. It's aimed at Super Duty owners who drive fast, jump their trucks, or run heavy bumpers and big tires on stock-width housings.
Features
- 1/4" mild steel, precision CNC designed, cut, and bent
- Spans inner-C to inner-C to brace the full axle tube length
- Triangular lower profile adds stiffness and slides over obstacles
- No loss of ground clearance beneath the cast differential housing
- Ships as 5 separate pieces for compact shipping and easier fit-up during welding
- Purpose-built for high-speed and jump abuse where tube failure is a real risk
- Made in the USA
Plan for real fabrication: the lower control arm bracket gussets must be removed before installation, light trimming may be needed where the truss meets the inner-Cs, and the five pieces get tacked and then stitch welded by a competent welder. The truss ships bare, so prime and paint it once it's on. Bracing the top side too? Add the Low Profile Ford SuperDuty Front Truss, or see the Dana 60 Full Hydro Mounting Kit if steering is next on the list — the rest of the catalog is in our axle reinforcements collection.
Front Axle Lower Truss for Ford Super Duty F-250/F-350 2005-2010 FAQs
Will this truss cost me ground clearance?
No. The truss is shaped to follow the housing and clear the cast differential, so there is no clearance loss under the pumpkin. The triangular lower profile actually helps the axle slide over obstacles rather than catching on square tube edges.
What prep work does the installation need?
Beyond pulling wheels, brakes, tie rod, shocks, sway bar, and control arms for access, the factory lower control arm bracket gussets must be removed before the truss goes on, and light trimming between the truss and the inner-Cs may be needed for a tight fit. The five pieces are tack welded in place, then stitch welded by a competent welder. Prime and paint the bare steel afterward.
Can I run this with a top-side truss?
Yes, and that is the strongest setup — this piece braces the bottom of the housing while a top truss like Artec's Low Profile SuperDuty Front Truss handles the top, effectively boxing the axle. This lower truss fits the 2005-2010 Super Duty front axle, so verify your axle year before combining parts.
