Dodge Dana 60 Front Axle Truss with Ram Mount

$359.99

The Artec Dodge 60 Front Truss is a full-width, weld-on truss for the high-pinion Dana 60 front axle found under 1994-2002 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks — the same housing that ends up under countless Jeep and buggy one-ton swaps. Big tires and hard hits will eventually bow a bare set of axle tubes; this truss braces the housing from end to end so both tubes resist bending, not just the section where your links attach. A built-in ram mount gives full-hydro steering builds a proper home for the hydraulic ram, and the low-profile top plate doubles as a flat platform for upper link mounts. It is a foundation piece for anyone linking a Dodge 60 front end.

Features

  • 3/8" mild steel truss top for maximum housing rigidity
  • 1/4" mild steel ram mount and gussets, interlocked so the pieces self-locate during weld-up
  • Spans the entire axle to reinforce both tubes end to end
  • Low-profile shape puts upper-link joints roughly 8" from the axle centerline for sound link geometry
  • Integrated ram mount supports full-hydraulic steering setups
  • Precision CNC cut and bent for consistent fitment
  • Made in the USA

Confirm you have the Dodge high-pinion Dana 60 front before ordering; other Dana 60 variants may need modification. This is a weld-on part for experienced fabricators — Artec recommends preheating the housing to around 400 degrees, stitch welding, and letting it cool slowly, and the bare steel needs paint or powder coat once welding is done. Mount your lower links with the Dana 60 Lower Link Axle Brackets, browse more housing bracing in axle reinforcements, and see hydraulic steering kits to finish the full-hydro side of the build.

Dodge Dana 60 Front Axle Truss with Ram Mount FAQs

Which axle does this truss fit?

It fits the Dodge high-pinion Dana 60 front axle used under 1994-2002 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks — one of the most common one-ton front swap axles for Jeeps and buggies. Verify your housing is the Dodge version before ordering; other Dana 60 variants may require modification to the truss or gussets.

Is welding required, and how involved is the install?

Yes, this is a weld-on truss and it calls for real fabrication skill. The interlocked pieces self-locate for tacking, but Artec recommends preheating the housing to roughly 400 degrees, stitch welding in alternating sections, and letting the axle cool slowly to avoid warping the tubes. Plan on installing with the axle stripped and out of the vehicle.

Do I have to run hydraulic steering to use it?

No. The 1/4" ram mount is built in for full-hydro builds, but if you run conventional steering it simply goes unused and does not interfere with a standard linked setup. The truss still gives you full-length tube reinforcement and a flat surface about 8" off centerline for upper link mounts.
