The Dana 60 Full Hydro Mounting Kit is the complete structural foundation for converting a kingpin Dana 60 front axle to full hydraulic steering. It bundles Artec's Full Hydro Ram Mount and Truss with the Ultimate Dana 60 High Steer Arms and all the knuckle-side hardware, so the ram mounting, axle reinforcement, and high-steer geometry arrive as one matched package instead of a parts-sourcing project. Variants cover Dodge, 1978-1979 Ford, 1985-1991.5 Ford, and Chevy Dana 60 axles, each with a choice of OEM or Reid knuckles. It's built for rock crawlers and buggy builders who are done fighting a steering box.
Features
- Full Hydro Ram Mount and Truss provides a rigid ram platform while reinforcing the housing
- Includes the Ultimate Dana 60 High Steer Arms for proper high-steer geometry
- Two knuckle bolt kits included
- Two ARP stud-and-nut kits for the steer arms — 4-stud for OEM knuckles, 5-stud for Reid knuckles
- Eight variants cover Dodge, Ford (78-79 and 85-91.5), and Chevy axles with OEM or Reid knuckles
- Ram mount and truss are weld-on for a permanent, load-bearing installation
Select the variant that matches both your axle and your knuckles — the knuckle choice sets the stud count in the ARP kits, so it has to be right. The ram mount and truss are weld-on, meaning general welding and fabrication skills are required, and the hydraulic ram, tie rod, and the rest of the steering system are purchased separately. Dana 60 Full Hydro Mounting Kit FAQs
Which Dana 60 axles does this kit fit?
It covers kingpin Dana 60 front axles from Dodge trucks, 1978-1979 Fords, 1985-1991.5 Fords, and Chevys. Each axle is offered in an OEM-knuckle or Reid-knuckle version, so identify both your axle source and your knuckles before choosing a variant — the two details together determine the correct kit.
What is different between the OEM and Reid knuckle versions?
The high-steer stud pattern. OEM-knuckle kits ship with 4-stud ARP stud-and-nut kits while Reid-knuckle kits ship with 5-stud kits, matching how each knuckle accepts the Ultimate 60 High Steer Arms. Ordering the wrong version leaves you with hardware that will not bolt up.
Does the kit include the hydraulic ram or steering components?
No. This kit is the mounting and reinforcement side of the conversion: the weld-on ram mount and truss, the high steer arms, two knuckle bolt kits, and the ARP stud kits. The hydraulic ram, tie rod, hoses, orbital, and pump are separate purchases, and installing the weld-on pieces requires general welding and fabrication skills.
