The Artec Industries Dodge Dana 60 Front Ram Mount & Truss handles two jobs on a kingpin Dodge front 60: it stiffens the housing against the tube-bending loads of big tires and a linked suspension, and it puts a full-hydraulic steering ram exactly where it belongs. A 3/8" steel truss top runs the full length of the axle, while the 1/4" ram mount is angled specifically for Dodge knuckles and tied into the truss with a 1/4" bridge that doubles as armor for the ram. If you are building a linked, full-hydro Dodge 60 for rocks or mud, this is the foundation piece that protects both the housing and the most expensive system hanging off it.
Features
- 3/8" mild steel truss top spans the entire axle for complete tube reinforcement
- 1/4" mild steel ram mount and interlocked gussets, CNC cut and bent in the USA
- Ram mount angled for Dodge knuckles and clearanced for rotated knuckles and pinions
- Accepts PSC Motorsports and Howe Performance double-ended hydraulic rams with the ram shaft and tie rod inline
- 1/4" bridge ties the ram mount into the truss and shields the ram; the mount itself works as an axle skid plate
- Bolt-on skid section allows gear access without cutting; drainage holes shed mud and trim weight
- Low-profile top locates link joints about 8" from the axle centerline for sane 3-link or 4-link geometry
Confirm you have a Dodge front Dana 60 before ordering, since the knuckle angles differ from Ford and GM housings. This is a weld-on kit for competent welders: fit, tack, stitch-weld, and finish the bare steel with paint. Running conventional steering instead of full hydro? The Dodge 60 Front Truss is the truss-only version. Add Truss Upper Link Mounts for your links, compare the Chevy 60 Front Ram Mount and Truss for GM housings, or browse all axle reinforcements.
Dodge Dana 60 Front Ram Mount & Truss FAQs
Which steering rams fit this mount?
The mount accepts both PSC Motorsports and Howe Performance double-ended hydraulic rams. Because the mount is angled for Dodge knuckles, the ram shaft and tie rod end up inline when everything is welded in the intended position. If you are not running full-hydro steering, the truss-only Dodge 60 Front Truss is the better buy.
Does installation require welding?
Yes — the truss top, gussets, bridge, and ram mount all weld to the axle housing, and Artec states that only competent welders should install this kit. Plan on fitting and tacking everything, stitch-welding to control heat, and letting the housing cool slowly. The parts arrive as bare steel, so paint the assembly once welding is done.
Will this fit a Ford or Chevy front Dana 60?
No. The bends and ram-mount angle are cut for Dodge knuckle geometry, so it is not interchangeable with other kingpin 60s. Artec makes dedicated versions for those housings — see the Ford ram mount trusses and the Chevy 60 Front Ram Mount and Truss instead.
