These overlays are made for the lower front door lettering on the Ford Expedition Platinum. Rather than replacing anything, each piece sits on top of the factory chrome lettering, so you change the color and add some relief without pulling off a single OEM part. It is a quick way to blank out bright chrome or match the lettering to the truck.
Tufskinz calls this its domed construction, and every piece is built in three layers. A UV doming resin on top gives the raised, glossy, scratch-resistant surface, standing about 4 mm proud. Beneath it is a colored substrate that can be real carbon fiber, chrome, camouflage or a factory-matched color, and the back carries 3M automotive-grade adhesive for the bond to the vehicle. Raw real carbon fiber is the one exception and sits about 1 mm proud.
Fitment
Made for the 2025-2027 Ford Expedition in the Platinum trim. The kit is sized to the factory chrome lettering on the lower front doors, so it is not a universal letter set and is not intended for other trims.
What's included
A 16-piece kit of letter overlays. The OEM emblem letters are not included; the overlays go onto the ones already on the vehicle.
Install notes
Vendor says prep and install take about 10 minutes. Clean the surface, line each piece up with its factory letter and press it down so the 3M adhesive can bond.
