The Artec Rivnut Tool turns rivet nut installation into a two-minute job with an impact driver — no dedicated rivnut gun required. Rivet nuts (threaded inserts) are how you add strong bolt-in mounting points to sheet metal, frames, and brackets when you cannot reach the back side to hold a nut, and they show up constantly in armor, skid plate, and accessory installs. This laser-cut steel tool sets the two most common sizes: insert the rivnut, align the matching hole, thread in the included Grade 8 bolt, and compress it tight with the impact.
Features
- CNC laser cut from 1/8" steel for durability
- Angled ends with a 1/4" hole and a 3/8" hole for the two common rivnut sizes
- Runs off a standard impact driver — no specialty rivnut gun needed
- Includes two 3/8"-16 and two 1/4"-20 Grade 8 hex bolts to draw inserts tight
- Compact enough to live in a trail tool kit
- Reusable across unlimited installs
This is a universal fabrication tool with no vehicle fitment to check — just match your rivnut size (1/4" or 3/8") to the corresponding hole. It pairs naturally with bolt-on armor projects, and it earns a spot next to the Artec Tire Tool Tray in a trail repair kit. Rivnut Tool FAQs
What rivnut sizes does it install?
The tool has two angled ends, one with a 1/4" hole and one with a 3/8" hole, so it sets 1/4" and 3/8" rivet nuts — the two sizes you will meet on most armor, skid plate, and accessory installs. Match the insert to the corresponding hole and you are set.
Do I need a rivnut gun or any special tooling?
No. That is the point of this tool: insert the rivnut, align the hole, thread in the included Grade 8 bolt, press the tool flat against the surface, and run the bolt with a standard impact driver to compress the insert. No dedicated rivnut gun required.
What hardware comes with it?
It ships with two 3/8"-16 tpi and two 1/4"-20 tpi Grade 8 hex bolts — the strong hardware you need to draw inserts tight without stripping threads. The 1/8" laser-cut steel tool itself is reusable across unlimited installs.
