Exterior Armor & Accessories

Exterior armor and accessories for off-road trucks, Jeeps and SUVs: front and rear bumpers, skid plates, rock sliders, roof racks and door accessories from Tufskinz, DV8 Offroad, Addictive Desert Designs and CBI Offroad Fab. Match the part to your exact year, cab and bed configuration, and plan bumper, skid plate and rack choices together so they fit around each other.

What's in Exterior Armor & Accessories

This is the top-level collection for everything bolted to the outside of a truck, Jeep or SUV. The biggest groups are front and rear bumpers, skid plates, complete roof racks, door accessories and rock sliders, followed by bed accessories, Molle panels, camper shells and emblem and trim overlays.

The deepest catalogs come from Tufskinz, DV8 Offroad, Addictive Desert Designs, CBI Offroad Fab, Fishbone Offroad and Prinsu Design Studio. Wrangler, Tacoma, 4Runner, Gladiator, Tundra and Bronco carry the most vehicle-specific parts, and a good share of listings are universal.

How to choose

Armor is easier to plan as a set than as single parts. Pick the bumper first, since it decides winch options, light mounting and approach angle. Then choose skid plates and sliders that don't fight it, and finish with racks and storage.

Before you order, check these:

  • Year range and generation in the listing title. A 2005-2015 Tacoma part will not fit a 2016-2023 truck.
  • Cab and bed configuration, such as Access Cab versus Double Cab, or Wrangler two-door versus four-door.
  • Factory sensors, tow hooks and fog lights that a bumper swap may move or delete.
  • Whether a listing is vehicle-specific or universal, since universal parts usually need fabrication or drilling.

Not sure which category you need? Start with the vehicle selector and work down from there.

Shipping, lead times and warranty

Orders for in-stock parts ship within 24 to 48 hours. Larger armor and rack pieces are often built to order by the brand, so check current lead times before you plan a weekend around an install. Each manufacturer sets its own warranty, and those terms are collected on the vendor warranty page. Questions about fitment go to (920) 249-7744.

Exterior Armor & Accessories FAQs

Should I buy a bumper or skid plates first?

It depends on the terrain you drive. Skid plates protect the oil pan, transmission and transfer case from rocks, while a bumper mainly improves approach angle and gives you a place for a winch and lights. If you plan to buy both, check that the bumper and skid plate listings are meant to work together.

Will an aftermarket front bumper work with my factory parking sensors or radar?

Sometimes. Many trucks with adaptive cruise control or parking sensors need the sensors relocated, or a bumper designed around them. Read the listing for sensor notes and call (920) 249-7744 if it isn't clear.

Are these parts bolt-on or do they need drilling?

Vehicle-specific bumpers, sliders and skid plates are usually designed to use factory mounting points, while universal parts often need cutting or drilling. The listing should say which one you're getting. Welded or fabrication-heavy items are a better fit for a shop.

How do I know a roof rack or bumper fits my Tacoma or 4Runner?

Match the generation and year range in the title, such as 3rd Gen 2016-2023 Tacoma or 5th Gen 4Runner. For trucks, also match cab and bed size. The vehicle selector narrows the list to your year and trim.

What is the difference between a skid plate and a rock slider?

A skid plate shields the underside, such as the engine, transmission and transfer case. A rock slider runs along the rocker panels to protect the body when you slide against a ledge or boulder, and many can also act as a step.
