AXIS Aluminum Steering Kit for JL-JT

$1,319.99

The AXIS Aluminum Steering Kit replaces the bending-prone factory tie rod and drag link on your Jeep Wrangler JL or Gladiator JT with 7075 aluminum links that shed weight without giving up strength. Artec ran this design in their ARTECON rig for five years of hard rock crawling and daily driving before releasing it, so it's proven under real abuse. It's a direct answer to the steering flex that shows up once you add bigger tires.

Key Features

  • Tie rod and drag link machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum for a major weight savings over steel tubing
  • Includes right-hand and left-hand tie rod ends (1.25" thread)
  • Includes right-hand and left-hand drag link ends (1.25" thread) — pitman-arm side and knuckle side
  • Opposing right- and left-hand threads let you set toe without disconnecting the ends
  • Machined wrench flats make tightening and adjustment easy
  • Supplied with 1.25"-12 tpi jam nuts (two RH, two LH)
  • Developed over five years of testing; made in the USA

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the Jeep Wrangler JL (2018-present) and Gladiator JT (2020-present), with two versions to match your steering knuckle. The Sport / Sahara / Overland version (also fitting non-US/Canada JL International Rubicon) and the Rubicon / Sport MaxTow version (also all International JT) use different knuckle tapers, so select the variant that matches your trim before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which version do I need for my Jeep?
Match the variant to your trim: one version fits Sport, Sahara, Overland, and non-US/Canada JL International Rubicon; the other fits Rubicon, Sport MaxTow, and all International JT. They differ by knuckle taper, so pick the one for your model.

Is aluminum steering strong enough for rock crawling?
Yes. Artec tested this 7075 aluminum design for five years in their ARTECON rig under both heavy rock crawling and daily driving before release, and it saves significant weight versus steel.

How do I adjust toe?
The tie rod uses opposing right- and left-hand threads with machined wrench flats, so you can rotate the bar to set toe without removing the ends, then lock it with the supplied jam nuts.

Does it require any fabrication?
No. It is a bolt-in replacement for the factory tie rod and drag link. Pair it with a heavy-duty front truss such as the JL-JT APEX Front Axle Truss when building a serious front end.
