The UD60 Rear APEX Short Truss is Artec Industries' next-generation weld-on truss for the Ultimate Dana 60 rear housing. Its patent-pending peaked "APEX" top adds far more rigidity than a traditional flat-top truss while keeping weight down, making it a smart backbone for a high-clearance link or coil-sprung rear axle build.
Key Features
- Patent-pending APEX peaked-top profile for greater beam strength than flat-top trusses
- CNC laser-cut in-house from 3/16" mild steel, weighing only about 13 lbs
- CNC-formed long seams are pre-bent, so you drop it on the housing and weld with no puzzle-piece assembly
- Modeled from Dana and Jeep 3D data for tight fit and clearance around surrounding components
- Roughly 70% less welding than older truss designs, which means less heat warp and faster install
- Short-truss height suits coil spring or link mounting on the rear housing
Fitment & Compatibility
Designed for the Ultimate Dana 60 (UD60) rear axle housing. It may adapt to some other Dana 60 variants with minor trimming, but it is not designed for the Dynatrac ProRock 60. Pair it with the UD60 Front APEX Truss for a matched front-and-rear housing package, or step up to the Low Profile Front Truss for the Ultimate Dana 60 on the front axle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which axle does this truss fit?
It is engineered for the Ultimate Dana 60 rear housing. It can sometimes be adapted to other Dana 60 housings with minor trimming, but it will not fit a Dynatrac ProRock 60.
Does it require welding?
Yes. This is a weld-on truss and requires general fabrication skill. Only a competent welder should install it. MIG welding with moderate pre-heat and post-heat is recommended, alternating from side to side to control warping.
Why is it lighter than other trusses?
The peaked APEX geometry gets its strength from shape rather than mass, so the 3/16" plate design comes in around 13 lbs while still stiffening the housing.
Does the short version clear coil springs and links?
Yes. The short-truss height is intended to leave room for coil spring or link mounting on the rear axle without interfering with surrounding components.
