Artec Tube Armor is a sacrificial steel skin that shields the tubing on your rig — lower links, tie rods, rock sliders, or a section of cage — without the weight and cost penalty of stepping up to thicker tube. The bent 3/16 in. plate wraps the tube and takes the hits, so when it gets beaten up you simply cut it off and weld on a fresh piece instead of replacing an entire tube.
Key Features
- CNC laser cut and CNC bent from 3/16 in. mild steel
- 70-degree bend cradles tubing from 1.5 in. OD and up
- The plate-steel bend actually adds strength to your tubing, making it less prone to bending
- Sacrificial design — takes the abuse and is replaceable by cutting off and welding on a new piece
- Supplied in a 48 in. length; trim to the length you need or cut one piece in half for shorter runs
- Saves weight and money versus running a full length of thicker, more expensive tubing
Fitment & Compatibility
Universal armor for round tubing 1.5 in. OD and larger — suspension links, tie rods and drag links, rock slider tubes, and cage members on Jeep, Toyota, Bronco or any custom build. It is not vehicle-specific; the 70-degree bend and 48 in. length let you cut it to fit wherever you need protection. It pairs well with DOM link tubing such as 1.5 in. OD .250 wall DOM and 2.0 in. OD .250 wall DOM.

Frequently Asked Questions
What tube sizes does it fit?
The 70-degree bend is designed for round tubing 1.5 in. OD and larger, so it works on most suspension links, tie rods, sliders and cage tubing.
Does it require welding?
Yes. Tack it along the tube and stitch weld it on. Because it is sacrificial, when it is beaten up you cut it off and weld on a new piece rather than replacing the tube.
How long is it and can I cut it down?
Each piece is 48 in. long and meant to be trimmed to length. You can cut one piece in half to armor two shorter sections.
What finish does it ship in?
It ships in raw steel, so clean and paint or coat it after welding to prevent rust.
Does it actually strengthen the tube?
Yes. The bent plate adds section to the tube, making it stiffer and less likely to bend, in addition to protecting it from impacts.
