The Triangulated TJ 8.8 Swap Kit lets you drop a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle under a Jeep TJ and delete the trackbar by running triangulated upper control arms. The reinforcing truss and all of the axle-side brackets are included, converting the 8.8 into a purpose-built off-road rear end with modern link geometry. It is the complete bracket package for a clean, strong 8.8 swap.
Key Features
- Reinforcing truss in 3/16" mild steel, with brackets in a mix of 1/4" and 3/16" mild steel for far more strength than the factory or basic aftermarket brackets
- Includes every bracket needed for a complete swap: upper and lower control arm mounts, shock mounts, anti-sway bar mounts, and coil spring perches with bump-stop pads
- Eliminates the trackbar by using triangulated upper control arms (not for use with OEM control arms)
- Outer brackets index to the truss, so there is no guessing or measuring during install
- Truss upper link mount width of 2.63" for 1.25" rod ends or other large joints
- High-clearance option provides flat LCA brackets and shock mounts to reduce rock damage
- Reinforced design needs roughly 70% less welding than earlier setups
Fitment & Compatibility
Designed to swap a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle into the Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006). Because it runs triangulated upper links, it is not compatible with OEM control arms, and new upper links and frame-side brackets are required. This version uses the 2.63" truss upper link mount. Installation is weld-on and requires solid welding and fabrication skills.

Frequently Asked Questions
What vehicle and axle is this for?
Swapping a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle into a Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006).
Can I keep my factory control arms?
No. The kit uses triangulated upper links to delete the trackbar, so new upper links and frame-side brackets are required and OEM arms are not compatible.
What size joints do the upper mounts accept?
This version has a 2.63" upper link mount width, sized for 1.25" rod ends or other large joints.
Does it require welding?
Yes. It is a weld-on kit; the brackets index to the truss but welding and fabrication skills are needed.
