JK APEX Front Axle Truss

$120.99

The JK APEX Front Axle Truss is Artec's next-generation front truss for the Jeep Wrangler JK, featuring a patented peaked-top design that adds rigidity over traditional flat-top trusses. CNC laser cut from 1/8" mild steel and CNC bent in-house, it weighs only about 7 lbs yet dramatically strengthens the front Dana 30 or Dana 44 housing for larger tires and hard trail use. It was engineered from 3D models supplied directly by Dana and Jeep for exacting fit and component clearance.

Key Features

  • Patented APEX peaked-top design provides more rigidity than a flat-top truss
  • CNC precision laser cut in-house from 1/8" mild steel; lightweight at only about 7 lbs
  • CNC precision bent so it drops onto the axle ready to weld, with no puzzle-piece assembly
  • Engineered from 3D models supplied by Dana and Jeep for fit and clearance around surrounding components
  • Contours to both the cast differential and the front axle disconnect (FAD)
  • Roughly 70% less welding than previous truss designs, reducing warping and install time
  • Dimpled holes shed weight while retaining rigidity; long seams are pre-bent, not welded

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU (2007-2018). Select the correct variant for your axle: JK 44 (Rubicon) or JK 30 (Sport/Sahara). This is a weld-on truss. It pairs with the JK Inner C Gussets and the APEX track bar brackets, and is the foundation of the JK APEX Front Axle Armor Kit and Ultimate Armor Kit. For the back of the Jeep, see the JK APEX Rear Axle Truss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Jeeps does this truss fit?
The Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU from 2007 to 2018. Choose the JK 44 version for Rubicon axles and the JK 30 version for Sport and Sahara axles.

Do I have to weld it on?
Yes. The truss is CNC bent to drop onto the housing and is then welded in place. Artec's design uses about 70% less welding than older trusses, which reduces warping and speeds up the install.

How should the axle be welded to avoid warping?
Artec recommends preheating the cast housing to roughly 400 degrees before welding and wrapping the axle in a welding blanket so it cools slowly over 18-24 hours.

Why is a peaked-top truss better than a flat-top?
The patented peaked cross-section resists bending loads more effectively than a flat plate, giving more rigidity for the same weight.

How heavy is it?
Only about 7 lbs, thanks to the 1/8" material, dimpled holes, and pre-bent seams.
