JK Aluminum Steering Kit with JMX PRO 7-8 in Rod Ends
The JK Aluminum Steering Kit upgrades your Wrangler's factory steering to a 1-ton crossover setup using solid 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum links. Unlike steel, 7075 aluminum can take a hit, deform, and pop back straight rather than staying bent, all at a lighter weight. Heat-treated chromoly offset JMX Pro 7/8" rod ends clear the differential cover and knuckle, making this a strong, trail-proven steering solution for the JK and JKU.
Key Features
- 1.5" solid 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum tie rod and drag link
- Heat-treated chromoly offset JMX Pro 7/8" rod ends to clear the diff cover and components
- Aluminum's memory returns links to straight after an impact instead of bending permanently
- Machined wrench flats for easy adjustment; can be flipped above or below the knuckle
- Massive 3/4" Grade 8 bolts with stover lock nuts fasten to the knuckles
Fitment & Compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Jeep does this fit?
The Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU, 2007-2018.
Is any fabrication required?
Some. The knuckles and pitman arm must be drilled to 3/4" for the Grade 8 bolts. Set toe-in to 1/16"-1/8" and re-check the bolts after 50 miles.
Is it right-hand-drive compatible?
Yes. Flip the drag link upside down so the offset heim sits on the driver side for RHD vehicles.
Will it work with high-steer arms or Reid knuckles?
It supports Reid Racing knuckles using the published reference lengths, but it is not compatible with weld-on high-steer arms. For a high-steer build use the DIY steel steering kit instead.
Aluminum or steel links?
7075-T6 aluminum is lighter and springs back to straight after a hit. The DIY steel steering kit uses DOM tubing for maximum strength at a lower price if you prefer steel.
