The Artec JK JL JT High Clearance Front Bumper is a stubby, high-clearance winch bumper that trims the front frame horns to dramatically improve approach angle on the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator. Built from 1/4" and 3/16" CNC laser-cut steel with an integrated winch mount and fairlead, it pulls the front armor up and in so you can crawl into obstacles the factory bumper would hang up on.
Key Features
- Constructed in the USA from 1/4" and 3/16" CNC laser-cut and formed steel
- Integrated 1/4"-thick winch mount and fairlead mount
- 3/4"-thick high-strength alloy steel shackle mounts tied into the structure
- 3/16" aerospace aluminum bash skid, machined for countersunk hardware
- Internal gussets and an internal PEM plate for a rigid, bolt-to-frame mount
- High-clearance stubby profile for a much-improved approach angle
- Available in raw steel or black powder coat
Fitment & Compatibility
Fits the Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU (2007-2018), Wrangler JL/JLU (2018-present), and Gladiator JT (2020-present). Installation requires drilling and cutting 5.25" off the front frame horns; the bumper then bolts to the modified frame and is anchored by an internal PEM plate. It is compatible with most winches comparable to a Warn Zeon but is not compatible with offset-drum winches. Swaybar clearance differs between JK and JL/JT - confirm your setup. For a matching front hoop, see the High Clearance Front Bumper with Hoop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to cut my frame to install this?
Yes. Installation requires drilling and cutting 5.25" off the front frame horns. That trim is what creates the high clearance and improved approach angle. The bumper then bolts to the modified frame with an internal PEM plate.
What winch will fit?
It is designed for winches comparable to a Warn Zeon and is not compatible with offset-drum winches. The winch mount is 1/4" steel with an integrated fairlead.
How much does it weigh?
Approximately 55 lbs, which keeps weight off the nose compared with a full-width bumper.
Can I replace the skid later if it gets beat up?
Yes. The bash skid is a serviceable part - the 3/16-inch aluminum replacement bash skid bolts right back on.
