The Artec Front Axle Truss for XJ reinforces the high-pinion Dana 30 front axle under the Jeep Cherokee, tying the long and short axle tubes together to fight the bending and flex that comes with bigger tires and hard wheeling. It is a heavy-duty yet lightweight weld-on truss that also gives you a clean platform for upgraded upper control arm mounts.
Key Features
- 1/4" thick truss top with interlocking 10-gauge (.130") mild steel gussets for maximum strength and easy assembly
- Spans both the long side and the short side of the housing, not just the long tube
- Low-profile shape clears the space above the axle for suspension and driveline components
- Precision CNC cut and bent so the pieces self-locate for welding
- Available bare (truss only) or with a choice of Daystar bushing or RockJock Johnny Joint upper-link mounts
Fitment & Compatibility
Fits the front high-pinion Dana 30 axle found under the Jeep Cherokee XJ (1984-2001). This is a weld-on truss for custom link and long-arm suspension builds. Choose the truss-only version if you are supplying your own upper-link mounts, or the Daystar or RockJock Johnny Joint versions for a complete upper control arm mounting solution.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which axle does this truss fit?
It is made for the front high-pinion Dana 30 in the Jeep Cherokee XJ (1984-2001). If you have a TJ, LJ, or ZJ, use the Front Axle Truss for TJ, LJ, ZJ instead.
What is the difference between the Daystar and RockJock versions?
The Daystar version uses rubber bushings in the upper-link mounts for a quieter, more compliant ride, while the RockJock version uses rebuildable, greasable Johnny Joints for maximum articulation and durability on hard trails.
Does this need to be welded on?
Yes. The truss and gussets are weld-on. The interlocking, precision-cut pieces self-locate to make the weld-up easier, but the job should be done by someone competent with a welder.
Can I add my own link mounts later?
Yes. Order the truss-only version and weld on your preferred upper-link mounts, such as Artec Johnny Joints for UCA brackets or Daystar Bushings for UCA brackets.
