Artec Hardcore Diff Cover for Jeep Wrangler JL M186-D30 Front
The Artec Hardcore Diff Cover for the Jeep Wrangler JL M186-D30 front axle is a thick-wall nodular-iron cover engineered specifically for the JL's front Dana 30 (M186) housing. Artec 3D-scanned the factory casting so the cover clears the housing and hangs low enough to protect the ring gear and carrier without adding a snag point, giving the JL's exposed front pumpkin real rock protection.
Key Features
- Cast from high-strength nodular iron with thick walls for impact resistance
- Engineered from 3D scan files of the JL M186 Dana 30 front housing for precise fit and clearance
- Durable powder-coat finish over the casting
- Magnetic drain plug to trap metal shavings during service
- CNC-machined sealing surface and high-strength steel fasteners
- Made in the USA with a 1-year manufacturer defect warranty
Fitment & Compatibility
Fits the front M186 (Dana 30) axle on the Jeep Wrangler JL, 2018-present. The M186 is the standard non-Rubicon JL front axle; Rubicon models with the M210 (Dana 44) front use a different cover. If your JL has the Dana 44 front, choose the Artec Hardcore cover for the M210-D44 instead. Pair this front cover with the matching Artec Hardcore cover for the JL M200-D35 rear to armor both differentials, and add the JL-JT APEX Front Axle Truss if you are running larger tires.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my JL?
It fits the Jeep Wrangler JL front M186 (Dana 30) axle, which is the standard non-Rubicon front axle from 2018 to present. If your JL is a Rubicon with the M210 Dana 44 front, you need the M210-D44 cover instead.
How do I know if I have the M186 Dana 30 or the M210 Dana 44?
Rubicon trims came with the heavier Dana 44 (M210) front; Sport and Sahara trims typically run the M186 Dana 30. You can also confirm by the axle tag or the shape of the factory cover.
Does it require welding?
No. It bolts on in place of the factory cover using the supplied high-strength fasteners and RTV or a gasket. Drain the fluid, clean the surface, torque in a star pattern, and refill.
Why does the 3D-scanned design matter?
Because the cover is modeled from a scan of the actual JL housing, it seals cleanly and holds close tolerances while still adding thick nodular-iron protection where the front diff is most exposed.
