The Artec Industries Ford Front 60 Hydro Ram Mount & Truss reinforces the 1985-1991.5 Ford front Dana 60 while giving you a rigid, correctly angled mount for a full-hydraulic steering ram. It pairs a heavy 3/8" steel truss top that stiffens the housing with a 1/4" ram mount tied in by a bridge, protecting one of the most vital and expensive systems on a hard-wheeled rig, the steering.
Key Features
- 3/8" thick mild steel truss top for maximum housing reinforcement
- 1/4" mild steel ram mount and gussets
- Ram mount angled correctly to account for Ford knuckles
- Ram mount tied into the truss with a 1/4" thick bridge that also shields the ram from trail damage
- Low-profile truss lets link joints mount with ideal geometry, about 8 inches from the axle centerline
- Truss spans the entire axle length for complete tube reinforcement, with interlocked 1/4" gussets
Fitment & Compatibility
Designed for the Ford front Dana 60 axle from 1985 to 1991.5, with the ram mount angled specifically for Ford knuckles. It will also work for balljoint axles from 1992-1997 and SuperDuty axles from 1999-present with minor modifications to the truss and ram mount, and heavy modification to the casting on 2005-present models. This is a weld-on assembly for full-hydraulic steering builds and requires welding and fabrication.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which axle and years does this fit?
The Ford front Dana 60 from 1985 to 1991.5. With modification it can also fit 1992-1997 balljoint axles and 1999-present SuperDuty axles, with heavy casting modification for 2005-present.
Is this for full-hydro steering?
Yes. The integrated ram mount is angled for Ford knuckles and designed to hold a full-hydraulic steering ram. If you only need the truss, see the Ford 85-91.5 60 Front Truss.
Does it require welding?
Yes. The truss, bridge, and ram mount all weld to the axle housing and require proper welding and fabrication.
How is the steering ram protected?
A 1/4" bridge ties the ram mount into the truss and physically shields the hydraulic ram from rock and trail impacts. Complete the steering with a full-hydro tie rod kit.
