The heavy 3/8" guard shields the pinion while the integrated bridge ties into your 14-bolt APEX truss, boxing the housing so the tubes can't spin and adding serious rigidity to a 1-ton rear. It's built for hard rock crawlers who've already trussed the axle and want to finish the job.

Fitment & Compatibility
Designed exclusively for use with the Artec 14-bolt APEX Short Truss — it welds into that truss and will not fit a bare housing or a different truss. It clears both 1350 and 1410 pinion U-joints. If you have not trussed your 14-bolt yet, start with the 14 Bolt Rear APEX Short Truss and add this guard to complete the package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work without the APEX truss?
No. It is designed only for use with the Artec 14 Bolt Rear APEX Short Truss, into which the bridge welds. It is not a standalone bolt-on guard.
Does it require welding?
Yes. The bridge welds into the APEX truss, so installation calls for welding and basic fabrication skills. The pinion ring itself bolts on with 3/8" bolts and press nuts.
What U-joints will it clear?
It clears both 1350 and 1410 pinion U-joints.
How thick is the guard?
The pinion guard and ring are laser-cut from 3/8" steel, while the bridge is cut from 3/16" steel.
