1 TON - APEX Front 60 Differential Top Cap 1985-1997

$76.99

Part of Artec's patent-pending APEX truss family, this Front 60 differential top cap welds directly onto a Kingpin/Ball-joint Dana 60 front axle casting to create a strong mounting surface for the driver-side upper control arm bracket. Its peaked APEX profile adds rigidity over a flat-top design while cutting weld time, making a clean 1-ton front axle build far easier.

Key Features

  • Patent-pending APEX peaked-top design for more rigidity than a flat-top truss
  • CNC precision laser cut in-house from 1/4" mild steel
  • CNC precision bent to drop onto the axle casting and weld with no puzzle-piece assembly
  • Provides a mounting surface for the driver-side upper control arm bracket
  • Designed from Ford and Jeep 3D models for accurate fit and component clearance
  • Roughly 70% less welding than previous truss designs, reducing warping and labor
  • Long seams are pre-bent so there is nothing to weld together along them

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the Kingpin/Ball-joint Ford Dana 60 front axle from 1985-1997. It is a weld-on component intended for 1-ton front axle swaps and builds. It pairs with Artec's front swap hardware, such as the JK/JL/JT 1-Ton APEX Front Kingpin/Ball-joint 60 Swap Kit (1985-1997).

Frequently Asked Questions

Which axle does this fit?
It fits the Kingpin/Ball-joint front Dana 60 axle from 1985-1997.

What does the top cap do?
It welds to the differential casting to create a mounting point for the driver-side upper control arm bracket during a 1-ton front swap.

Does it require welding?
Yes. It is a weld-on part. The pre-bent long seams and peaked design mean roughly 70% less welding than older truss designs.

How hard is it to position?
It is CNC bent to drop directly onto the axle casting and is ready to weld, with no puzzle-piece assembly of multiple flat plates.
