RCI Metalworks FAQs
Where are RCI Metalworks parts made?
RCI builds its armor in-house in Loveland, Colorado, from laser cutting and bending through welding and powder coat. Steel and aluminum plate and tubing come from the USA or Canada; some roof rack extrusions are sourced from Canada, China and the USA.
Should I choose steel or aluminum RCI skid plates?
It mostly comes down to weight. RCI says 1/4 inch aluminum weighs about half as much as 3/16 inch steel and about 70% as much as 10-gauge steel.
What finish do RCI parts come in?
Many parts are offered powder coated in textured satin black or bare. RCI only coats in black, so order bare if you want another color applied locally.
How long does an RCI order take?
RCI currently quotes about 1-2 weeks for cat guards, 2-3 weeks for bed and roof racks, 3-4 weeks for skid plates, sliders and accessories, and 5-6 weeks for bumpers. In-stock items ship sooner. These are estimates and change with demand.
Are RCI skid plates KDSS and diff-drop compatible?
RCI makes a KDSS-specific version where it matters, and most of its skids work with a diff drop without modification. Most also stay on for oil changes.
What warranty does RCI Metalworks offer?
A lifetime structural warranty against defects in material and craftsmanship for the original purchaser, plus 180 days on powder coat. Improper installation, normal wear and, in most cases, off-road damage are excluded.
