This 3/16-inch laser-cut steel plate protects the front of Rangers with torsion bar front suspension. It covers the front cross-member, power steering unit, engine and the low-hanging radiator. Built-in vents keep cooling air moving to the power steering unit without giving up front-end protection. The face is smooth and flat for sliding over obstacles, and a black powder coat protects the steel.
RCI says it also works well on body-lifted vehicles. Shipping weight is 34 lb.
Fitment
Fits the 1998-2011 Ford Ranger with torsion bar front suspension. It is also compatible with the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer and 2001-2005 Sport Trac with torsion bar suspension. Some Explorers have only 2 of the 4 mounting holes, in which case two additional holes need to be drilled.
What's included
The skid plate, all hardware and installation instructions.
Install notes
Direct bolt-on to existing factory attachment points with no drilling on Rangers, and RCI says it installs in minutes. An installation guide is available.
