This package bundles RCI's skid plates for the 5th generation 4Runner into a single order: the engine (full front) skid plate, the transmission skid plate, the transfer-case skid plate and the cross-member plates. Together they cover the front two cross-members, the low-hanging front differential, oil pan, transmission, the second and third cross-members, the exhaust cross pipe and the transfer case, which is most of the exposed underbody.
You choose the material for each plate: 3/16 inch steel or 1/4 inch 5052 aluminum, and the front plate is offered for KDSS-equipped and non-KDSS models. Steel ships with a black epoxy powder coat as standard, and the powder coat is optional on aluminum. The transfer-case cross-members are always 3/16 inch steel in black powdercoat, even on the aluminum builds, because RCI wants the structural strength there. RCI lists the weight at 118 lb for steel and 68 lb for aluminum.

Listed for the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner. Pick the right front plate for your suspension: there are separate options for KDSS-equipped and non-KDSS trucks.
Design details
The engine plate has center mounting posts for added strength and a differential drop cage, which gives you ground clearance and lets you run a differential drop kit without spacing the plate down. Built-in oil drain holes let you change the oil without pulling the plate, bolt protector rings shield exposed bolts, and the edges between cross-members are reinforced.
Install notes
Direct bolt-on to existing factory attachment points, with no drilling. Each section can be removed on its own for maintenance. Hardware and installation instructions are provided.

What is in the package?

Does it fit KDSS trucks?
Yes. The front plate is offered for both KDSS-equipped and non-KDSS models, so choose the one that matches your truck.
Steel or aluminum?
Steel is the heavier option at 118 lb for the package and comes powder coated black. Aluminum is lighter at 68 lb. The transfer-case cross-members are steel either way.
Do I need to drill?
No. It bolts to existing factory attachment points.
Can I change the oil without removing the plate?
