The underside of a Tundra or Sequoia carries a lot of expensive hardware with very little covering it. This RCI engine skid plate shields the front of the underbody, including the power steering unit, front differential, front cross-member, engine and radiator area. It is made in the USA and comes in three material and finish combinations, so you can pick between weight and toughness.
The 10 gauge steel version, finished in satin black powdercoat, is the all-purpose choice. RCI describes it as far tougher than the factory plates, with significantly more coverage, and a sensible upgrade whether you have stock plates or nothing at all. The 1/4 inch aluminum version is the lighter option, sold in bare metal or satin black powdercoat. RCI says it is much stronger than factory skid plates and, thanks to the extra thickness, just as strong as steel at a substantially lower weight. Aluminum also resists rust and corrosion without paint.
Fitment
Listed for all 2022 and newer 4x4 Tundra models and 2023 and newer 4x4 Sequoia models. It is not compatible with 4 inch or larger drop bracket lift kits, though RCI says it works with 1 to 3 inch coilover lift kits such as the Toytec Boss. It is also not compatible with sway bar drops. It works with the electronic actuated lower air dam.
Install notes
This is a direct bolt-on to existing factory attachment points, with no drilling. The two-piece design goes on and comes off with basic hand tools, and it uses six mounting points while staying clear of aftermarket bumpers and hidden winches at the radiator cross-member. The oil filter is reached through an access door held by two bolts, and there are no exposed bolt heads on the plate surface. All hardware and instructions are included.

Does this work with a lifted truck?
It works with 1 to 3 inch coilover lift kits such as the Toytec Boss. It is not compatible with 4 inch or larger drop bracket lift kits.
Do I need to drill anything?
No. It bolts to existing factory attachment points.
Can I still change my oil?
Yes. An access door removes with two bolts to reach the oil filter.
Should I get steel or aluminum?
Steel (10 gauge) is the all-purpose pick and comes powder coated black. Aluminum (1/4 inch) is substantially lighter, resists corrosion without paint, and RCI says it is just as strong because of the added thickness.
Is hardware included?
Yes, all hardware and installation instructions are included.
