About ROAM Adventure Co.

ROAM came out of its founders' own camping trips and a wish to leave everyday stress at the trailhead. Since 2017 the Austin company has built rooftop tents, awnings, rugged storage, rooftop storage and camp living gear for vehicle-based camping.

The pitch is straightforward: gear tough enough that you forget about it, backed by a support team ROAM calls Adventure Experts. The Rugged Case line, from about 55L up to 160L plus rolling versions, is the product most people recognize.

What we carry from ROAM

Storage: Rugged Cases and rolling Rugged Cases, with lid organizers, MOLLE panels, foam inserts and Rugged or Rigid Mounts to lock them to a rack or bed. Browse more overland storage if you're building out a system.

Sleep and shade: Vagabond, Vagabond XL and Vagabond Lite soft-shell rooftop tents and the Desperado hardshell, plus annexes, sheets and mattresses. Awnings include rooftop, 270 and Arc 180/270 models, with awning and shower rooms.

Camp: Rugged coolers, a drink tank and ice bucket, the 9.5 gal electric pump water tank, universal bed bars, the Drifter tent, camp chairs and tables, Rugged Bags, and ROAM hats and apparel.

How to choose

Rooftop tents fail on the rack, not the tent, so start there.

• ROAM's tent mounting hardware fits crossbars about 3.25" wide x 2" tall. Check your bar profile.
• Crossbar spacing: about 36" center-to-center for the Vagabond Lite, 48" for the standard Vagabond, 60" for the XL.
• Tents weigh roughly 110–160 lb by model. Confirm your rack's and roof's dynamic load rating.
• Case mounts and lid organizers are size-specific (an 83L is not a 95L). Match them to your exact case.

Lead times & shipping

In-stock ROAM items ship from NVMOS in 24–48 hours. Some parts ship direct from ROAM or are built to order, so check the product page for current status, or call before you plan an install weekend around a delivery date.

Rooftop tents are freight shipments. When one ships direct from ROAM, the carrier schedules an appointment and someone needs to be there to accept it.

ROAM Adventure Co. warranty

ROAM covers Rugged Cases and coolers with a limited lifetime warranty, rooftop tents and awnings for 2 years, and accessories for 1–3 years depending on the product, all against defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner. UV breakdown, worn zippers, weather or animal damage, and gear that wasn't maintained aren't covered, and claims start with ROAM's RMA form plus photos and video.
