About Genesis Offroad

Genesis Offroad is a husband-and-wife operation that started around 2010. Shane, an IT professional and habitual tinkerer, needed a second battery to keep up with the electrical load on his own rig. Amy, an industrial engineer, runs the supply chain.

Today the focus is vehicle-specific dual battery systems that put an auxiliary battery under the hood in a powder-coated steel tray, plus monitors, power hubs, outlet boxes and MOLLE panels. Orders ship from the office in Olive Branch, Mississippi, just outside Memphis.

What we carry from Genesis Offroad

We carry Genesis Gen 3 and OMEGA dual battery kits, OMEGA upgrades, DIY tray kits, battery and G Screen bundles, and battery accessories like power hubs, the 200A smart isolator, engine-on sensor cables, charger harnesses, outlets and outlet boxes.

Kits cover the Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra and FJ Cruiser, the Jeep Wrangler JK and JL and Gladiator JT, and the Ford Bronco.

How to choose

The big decision is Gen 3 versus OMEGA, and then making sure the batteries match.

  • Gen 3 ties both batteries together in parallel through a smart combiner.
  • OMEGA keeps the batteries separate and charges the auxiliary through a Redarc Alpha 25A DC-DC charger that also takes solar input.
  • DIY kits are just the tray, a bare lid and hardware. Choose one only if you plan to supply your own isolator and wiring.
  • Kits need two matching batteries of the size the kit specifies. Your factory battery will not work in the tray.
  • Diesel and 392 Wranglers use different kits than gas JL and JT models, so match the engine.

Lead times & shipping

In-stock items ship from NVMOS in 24–48 hours. Some items ship direct from the brand or are built to order, so check the product page for current timing or give us a call. Lead times are estimates and they change. Genesis says it tries to keep everything stocked and posts an estimated lead time on any product that is out.

Genesis Offroad warranty

Wiring, battery trays and most Genesis-branded parts carry a three-year warranty for the original owner, while the smart isolator and heavy-duty combiner carry one year. Powder coat, paint and installation labor are not covered. Batteries and third-party electronics such as Odyssey, Full River, Ohmmu, Dakota Lithium and Redarc follow their makers' own warranties. Genesis Offroad FAQs

Where is Genesis Offroad based?

Genesis ships from its office in Olive Branch, Mississippi, just outside Memphis, and describes its products as made in the USA.

What is the Genesis Offroad warranty?

Wiring, trays and most Genesis-branded parts are covered for three years, and the isolator and combiner for one year. Batteries and third-party electronics follow their own makers' warranties.

How fast do Genesis kits ship?

In-stock items ship from NVMOS in 24–48 hours. If something is out of stock, the product page shows an estimated lead time.

What's the difference between Gen 3 and OMEGA?

Gen 3 uses a smart combiner to link the two batteries in parallel when charging. OMEGA keeps them independent and charges the auxiliary through a Redarc Alpha 25 amp DC-DC charger with solar priority.

Do the kits come with batteries?

No. Batteries are sold separately or in bundles, and you need two matching batteries of the size the kit specifies because the factory battery will not fit the tray.

How long does install take?

Genesis estimates 2–3 hours for a reasonably handy DIYer, and says shops usually bill about 2 hours on a stock vehicle. An installation video is provided.
