The Engine On Sensor Cable is an optional add-on for Genesis Offroad Gen 2 dual battery systems. Its job is to keep the two batteries combined for as long as the engine is running, no matter what the alternator is putting out.

That matters on newer Jeeps. Genesis highly recommends it for the Jeep JL and Gladiator because of their smart alternators, which can drop system voltage below 12.7v while the engine is running. The earlier Jeep JK and most Toyota vehicles do not have that behavior, so Genesis says it is not needed on them.

Fitment

An accessory for Gen 2 Genesis dual battery systems, recommended for Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator. Not needed on the Jeep JK or most Toyota applications.

Install notes

The fuse tap fits into a Micro Fuse slot in the fuse box, and the ring terminal shares a screw with the purple wire on the back of the boost button. Connect the ring terminal to that screw, route the cable to the factory fuse box, remove fuse F52, put the factory fuse into the fuse tap, then plug the tap into the fuse box.
