Coachbuilder Carrier Bearing Drop Kit | 3"β4" Rear Lift | Fits Toyota Tundra 2007β2021 | Ekstrom Design
Put 3ββ4β of lift under the back of a 2007β2021 Toyota Tundra β full spring packs, blocks, or a stacked rear setup β and the two-piece rear driveshaft ends up working at angles it never saw from the factory. The result is the familiar takeoff shudder and driveline vibration that follows most taller rear lifts. This Coachbuilder Carrier Bearing Drop Kit is the 3ββ4β answer: a pair of CNC-machined T6 6061 billet aluminum spacers lowers the center carrier bearing farther than the 0ββ2β kit can, restoring driveshaft geometry to suit the taller stance. New mounting hardware is included for the deeper drop, and the whole job takes 10β15 minutes with a 25 ft-lb final torque once the truck is back on the ground.
Features
- Sized specifically for 3ββ4β of rear lift β a deeper drop than the 0ββ2β kit
- Engineered to eliminate driveline vibration after lifting the rear suspension
- CNC machined from T6 6061 billet aluminum
- Sold as a pair with new mounting hardware included
- Bolts between the frame support and the top of the carrier bearing
- Installs in 10β15 minutes; torque to 25 ft-lbs with the truck on the ground
- Made in the USA by Ekstrom Design & Fabrication
A rear lift this tall usually touches more than the driveshaft. Keep the rear brake lines happy at full droop with the Rear Brake/ABS Relocation Kit, see our leaf springs and shackle kits if the rear setup itself is still coming together, and find the rest of the geometry correction in the driveline components collection. Everything else the brand makes lives in our Coachbuilder lineup.
Coachbuilder Carrier Bearing Drop Kit | 3"β4" Rear Lift | Fits Toyota Tundra 2007β2021 | Ekstrom Design FAQs
Why do I need the 3"-4" kit instead of the cheaper 0"-2" kit?
Because the drop has to match the lift. On a 2007-2021 Tundra with 3"-4" of rear lift, the driveshaft angle change is bigger than the 0"-2" kit is built to correct, so this version lowers the carrier bearing farther and includes new mounting hardware to suit the deeper drop. Buy by the actual rear lift on your truck, not by price.
Will this fix the shudder my Tundra developed after the lift?
That takeoff shudder is the textbook symptom this kit is engineered for. Lifting the rear of a 2007-2021 Tundra steepens the two-piece driveshaft's operating angles at the center carrier bearing, and dropping the bearing restores the geometry. If vibration continues after installing the correct kit for your lift height, have the u-joints and carrier bearing itself inspected for wear.
How long does the install take and what is included?
Plan on 10-15 minutes. The kit includes a pair of CNC-machined T6 6061 billet aluminum drop spacers plus new mounting hardware — they bolt between the frame support and the top of the carrier bearing at the center of the rear driveline. Final torque is 25 ft-lbs, set with the truck sitting on the ground.
