A winch line, rope or strap under load holds a lot of energy, and if it snaps or a shackle fails that energy has to go somewhere. A winch damper is the cheap insurance: you drape it over the line mid-span so a failure drives the line toward the ground rather than through your windshield, hood or radiator. This Carbon Offroad blanket is built as exactly that and nothing else.
It is made from heavy-duty reinforced synthetic with canvas and reflective webbing tape. Two internal pockets can be filled with sand or rocks, which keeps the blanket in place in wind and adds mass where it matters. Reflective straps and striping make it visible once the headlamps come on, and safety tips and basic instructions are printed on the inside so you have a reminder when you are stressed and tired. It measures 500 mm x 430 mm (about 19.7 in x 16.9 in) with a 240 mm x 120 mm cut-out.
Fitment
Universal, and the vendor says it works with both synthetic rope and steel cable.
What's included
One Carbon Offroad Winch Damper Blanket, blue with white logos.
Usage notes
A damper reduces risk but does not remove it. Keep bystanders clear and follow standard winching practice.
