Using a tree as an anchor is standard recovery practice, but wrapping a thin winch rope or chain directly around the trunk cuts into bark, damages the tree and wears out the rope. This Carbon Offroad Tree Trunk Protector is a wide strap that spreads the load across the trunk and takes the abrasion in place of your winch line.
It is a rigging tool, not a tow strap. Minimum breaking strain is 12,000 kg (26,400 lbs), which leaves headroom for heavy vehicles, and it is 5 m (16 ft) long and 75 mm (3 in) wide, so it reaches around big trees rather than just saplings. The wide profile keeps the pressure low, which is the point. The vendor ties it to responsible four-wheel driving: protecting trees keeps tracks open.
Fitment
Universal. It is not tied to any vehicle.
What's included
One Carbon Offroad Tree Trunk Protector Strap, 5 m.
Usage notes
It pairs with a soft shackle or winch hook at the anchor. Do not use it as a snatch or tow strap, since the vendor describes it as a dedicated rigging tool.
Questions before you order?
Fitment questions are easier to settle before the box ships. Call or text Carl & Anton at (920) 249-7744 or use the chat — real humans in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, not a call center.
