When a recovery is moving fast, a heavy steel shackle and its pin are the last thing you want to fumble with. This soft shackle is built from Spectra fiber, a 10 mm x 650 mm (3/8 in x 25 in) loop with an 18,000 kg (39,600 lb) breaking strain. It is light enough to ignore in the gear bag, floats in water, and the vendor pitches it at smaller vehicles that need serious recovery gear without the bulk.
A tight-braided outer sheath protects the core from rock abrasion, sand and UV, which the vendor says keeps it dependable for years rather than months. The 650 mm length is long enough to wrap around roll cages, tubular bumpers or awkward recovery points, yet short enough that it does not tangle. The blue and orange coloring with reflective fiber is there so you can find it quickly in mud or low light.
