How to make a Ruff Rax claim
- Have your proof of purchase or sales receipt ready; OVS asks for it with every warranty claim
- Photograph the defect and note your part number before you remove or ship anything
- Contact OVS Warranty Service by phone or email (below). OVS decides whether the item is defective and, if it is, repairs or replaces it with an equivalent product
- Freight deliveries (caps, racks, tents): inspect before you sign, note any damage on the bill of lading, and report damage or missing pieces within 24 hours

Ruff Rax Roof Rack Noise Reducer
Roof racks whistle and hum at highway speed, and on a long drive that noise wears on you. This strip mounts across the front of the rack and smooths the airflow hitting it, which cuts down on whistling and buffeting in the cab.
It is made to fit Ruff Rax roof racks with a clean, low-profile look and does not get in the way of anything you carry on the rack. It is trimmed to length during install, so one part covers different rack widths. Browse more roof rack accessories.
Universal fit for Ruff Rax roof racks. It mounts to the front fascia of the rack and is cut to length.
Install takes tin snips or wire cutters. Measure along the front fascia, cut the strip to length, smooth any sharp edges, then line it up with the mounting points and secure it so it sits flush and straight. Part number 2081009. Do I need to cut it?
Yes. Measure your rack's front fascia and trim the strip to length with tin snips or wire cutters, then clean up the cut edge.
Will it stop all rack noise?
It reduces the whistling and buffeting caused by air hitting the front of the rack. Other accessories on the rack can still make their own noise.
What tools do I need?
Tin snips or wire cutters for trimming, plus basic hand tools for fastening it to the mounting points.
