How to make a M.O.R.E. warranty claim
- Get a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number first; M.O.R.E. won't accept a warranty return without one
- Have a copy of your original receipt showing where you bought it, the date and the price paid
- Ship the part back freight prepaid and insured, following the instructions from the dealer you bought it from

The factory transfer case skid on a 5th gen 4Runner is a mini plate, and the transfer case behind it is an expensive repair. M.O.R.E.'s rear transfer case skid plate replaces it with 1/4" aluminum plate, so a bad line over a rock costs you some paint instead of a transfer case.
M.O.R.E. lists the aluminum version at 19 lb and describes the install as easy. It is made for KDSS-equipped 5th gen 4Runners from 2010 on, so confirm your truck has KDSS before ordering. Colors: Bare Aluminum, Pure Black, Flame Red, Tactical Gray or Desert Sand.
Aluminum versus steel: aluminum keeps weight down and will not rust, but it costs more. If budget matters more than weight, M.O.R.E. also makes this plate in steel.
M.O.R.E. makes aluminum skid plates to order. Bare aluminum can take up to 10 days to ship, and powder coat colors other than black can add about 15 more. Bare plates will show some minor scratches from manufacturing.
Install tip: support the plate while starting bolts, torque to spec, and re-check the hardware after your first trip off pavement.

Does it fit a 4Runner without KDSS?
This plate is listed for KDSS-equipped 5th gen 4Runners. If your truck does not have KDSS, call us before ordering.
Steel or aluminum?
Steel is heavier and cheaper; aluminum is lighter and will not rust but costs more. M.O.R.E. makes both versions of this plate.
How long will it take to ship?
