How do I install it on my winch?
Fix the end with the colored safety band to the drum and wind on under tension. MAXTRAX recommends seating the rope against the fairlead with its Winch Widget, then removing the widget before use.
What do the colored markings mean?
Black markings show you are into the last 6 m of rope on the drum, and red markings show the last 2 m.
Do I need a FUSE Shackle with this?
MAXTRAX states that a MAXTRAX FUSE Shackle must be used in every recovery within the MAXTRAX Recovery System, and that the system has not been tested with third-party branded products.
When should I retire the rope?
Do not use it if it is cut, frayed, burned, melted, abraded or partly unwound. Strength and stretch are also reduced when it is wet.
