MAXTRAX Kinetic Recovery Rope
A kinetic rope stores energy as it stretches and gives it back as it recovers, which is why MAXTRAX says it produces more kinetic power than a flat snatch strap. This one is 24 mm Nylon 66 and polyester, with up to 30 percent elongation for a smoother, safer dynamic recovery.
Every length carries the same 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) minimum breaking strength. MAXTRAX lists 2, 3, 5 and 10 m lengths, and the ropes can be used alone or joined with Core Shackles.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 24 mm |
| Minimum breaking strength | 12,000 kg / 26,455 lb (all lengths) |
| Elongation | Up to 30% |
| Material | Nylon 66 and polyester |
| Lengths and weights | 2 m: 1.4 kg; 3 m: 1.8 kg; 5 m: 2.5 kg; 10 m: 4.3 kg |
| Sizing guidance | MBS of 2 to 3 times the GVM of the lighter vehicle |
| Not for | Lifting or conventional towing |
How do I pick the right rope for my vehicle?
MAXTRAX recommends a rope MBS of 2 to 3 times the GVM, matched to the lighter of the two vehicles in the recovery.
What lengths are available?
MAXTRAX lists 2 m, 3 m, 5 m and 10 m. All are 24 mm diameter with the same 12,000 kg MBS. Check the options on this page for what we stock.
Do I need a FUSE Shackle with this?
MAXTRAX states that a MAXTRAX FUSE Shackle must be used in every recovery within the MAXTRAX Recovery System, and that the system has not been tested with third-party branded products.
How should I look after it?
Inspect it before use, rinse with fresh water and air dry after use, and retire it if it is frayed, burned, melted or abraded. Strength and stretch drop when the rope is saturated.
