Toyota 4Runner
The 4Runner pairs wagon livability with real trail hardware, which is why it anchors so many family overland builds. NVMOS carries 700+ fitment-filtered parts for the 5th Gen (2010–2024) and the new 6th Gen — Dobinsons and ICON suspension including KDSS-compatible kits, CBI and C4 armor, Prinsu racks, Goose Gear drawer systems, and lighting from Baja Designs and Morimoto. Pick your year; see what fits.

Toyota 4Runner FAQs
How do I know if my 4Runner has KDSS, and why does it matter?
Look for a KDSS sticker under the hood or the hydraulic rams connecting to the sway bars front and rear (Trail/TRD Off-Road trims commonly have it). It matters because standard lift kits bind KDSS hardware — you need KDSS-specific spacers and springs, and lifted KDSS trucks often need a small cross-side correction to sit level.
What's the best lift setup for a family 4Runner that overlands?
A quality 2.5" system with springs rated for your constant load — Dobinsons and ICON both build exactly this. It clears 33s, keeps the step-in height family-friendly, and preserves the compliant ride that makes long travel days civil. Skip spacer-only kits if you're carrying drawer systems and a tent; they don't address load.
Roof rack or hitch carrier for 4Runner cargo?
Roof racks suit light, bulky gear — boards, awning, empty boxes. Heavy weight up top hurts an SUV's handling more than a pickup's, so keep fuel, water, and dense cargo low: drawer systems inside, or a hitch-mounted carrier. A low-profile Prinsu-style rack plus disciplined packing is the winning 4Runner formula.
Can I sleep inside a 4Runner instead of buying a tent?
Yes — it's one of the platform's best tricks. With the second row folded (or a seat-delete), a sleeping platform gives you a dust-proof, wind-proof bedroom that sets up in zero minutes. Goose Gear's 4Runner sleep/storage systems are purpose-built for it. Add window vents and you may never pitch the tent again.
What tires fit a stock or lifted 4Runner?
Stock handles 32s (265/70R17) easily. A 2.5–3" lift opens up 33s (285/70R17) with minor or no trimming depending on wheel offset. 34s and up get into body-mount and liner surgery. As always, wheel offset changes the answer — send us your combo and we'll sanity-check it.
