About Timbren

Timbren started in 1968 on the idea that suspension could work better, and its core product is still the hollow Aeon rubber spring. The company is family owned, ISO 9001 registered, and tests in-house and with outside labs. It is based at 320 Hopkins Street in Whitby, Ontario, where Timbren says all of its products are made, and it ships to US customers from a distribution warehouse in Goshen, Indiana.

The SES (Suspension Enhancement System) is the part most truck owners know: a bolt-on progressive-rate rubber spring that sits between the axle and frame and pushes back harder as the load grows, cutting squat and sway without changing unloaded ride height. Timbren says most kits install in under 30 minutes with ordinary tools. Timbren has since added Active Off-Road Bumpstops for lifted rigs, a trailer suspension line, and BES brake pads and coated rotors aimed at trucks that tow.

How to choose

SES is for load, not lift: An SES kit adds progressive support as the truck squats under a trailer tongue, camper or bed load. Timbren says unloaded ride height stays the same, so it will not level or lift a truck; lifted trucks need Timbren's spacer kits.

Order by exact year and drivetrain: Timbren makes separate kits for 2WD and 4WD and for front and rear, and kits change with model years. Match the listing to the truck's year, drive and axle position.

Bump stops for lifted trucks: Active Off-Road Bumpstops replace factory stops to soften bottoming on trail hits. Check the listing for the lift range they suit.

Keep spacers out of the setup: Timbren's warranty excludes damage tied to added wheel spacers or adapters it did not design, plus overloading. Stay inside the truck's rated capacity.

BES for trucks that tow: BES pads are a severe-duty semi-metallic compound sold alongside Timbren's coated rotors, and they carry their own warranty of 42 months or 42,000 miles. Replace pads and rotors per axle, front or rear, as listed.

Lead times & shipping

NVMOS dropships Timbren. In-stock parts ship in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Timbren itself says it usually processes orders in 1-2 business days, shipping to the US from its Goshen, Indiana warehouse. SES kits and brake parts ship by parcel.

Timbren warranty

Timbren covers its SES kits, SES spacer kits, SES for trailers and Active Off-Road Bumpstops against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the vehicle they were first installed on. BES brakes carry 42 months or 42,000 miles, whichever comes first, from retail purchase, covering materials and workmanship only. The remedy is replacement of the failed part; labor, freight and collateral damage are not covered, the warranty does not transfer, and Timbren may inspect the part. Wheel spacers, overloading, improper installation or torque, normal wear, cosmetic finish and corrosion, and product bought from unauthorized dealers are excluded. Read our Timbren warranty summary.

Timbren FAQs

What is the warranty on a Timbren SES kit?

Timbren covers SES kits against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the vehicle the kit was originally installed on. It does not move to a second vehicle or owner.

Does a Timbren SES make the ride stiffer?

Timbren says the kit should not change unloaded ride quality, because the spring rate is progressive: light at first contact and firmer as the load builds. Expect the difference to show up when the truck is loaded or towing.

Will Timbren SES lift my truck?

No. Timbren says unloaded ride height stays where it is. SES kits are built for factory ride height, and lifted trucks need Timbren's separate spacer kits.

What is Timbren BES?

BES is Timbren's brake line for tow vehicles: severe-duty semi-metallic pads and coated rotors. They carry a 42-month or 42,000-mile warranty on materials and workmanship.

Does Timbren pay labor on a warranty claim?

No. Timbren replaces the failed part, and labor, freight and collateral damage are excluded.

Can I return a Timbren kit I do not like?

Timbren advertises a 100-day money-back guarantee on purchases made directly from it. For an NVMOS order, call us at (920) 249-7744 and we will check what Timbren will accept through the dealer channel.
