About SPC

Specialty Products Company started in 1971 as a specialty automotive tool maker and grew into a company that designs, manufactures and sells wheel alignment parts, from camber bolts and shims to ball joints and full control arms. It is based in Longmont, Colorado, still builds many of its parts in its own manufacturing facility, and runs technician training and an alignment tech line alongside the parts business. SPC Performance is the branch of that catalog aimed at off-road, track and enthusiast vehicles.

The reason to care is alignment. Lift a truck or SUV and you often run out of factory caster and camber adjustment, which shows up as wandering steering, uneven tire wear and a shop that cannot get the numbers back into spec. SPC's adjustable upper arms give that adjustment back, and because alignment parts are the company's core business, the arms are designed around what an alignment tech needs to dial in rather than around looks.

What we carry from SPC

Most of what we carry from SPC Performance is its adjustable front upper control arms, sold in pairs. SPC lists them for the Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Tundra, Sequoia and Land Cruiser, Lexus GX and LX, Nissan Frontier, Ford F-150 (not Raptor) and 2019-and-later Ranger, and Chevy Silverado, Colorado and GMC Sierra and Canyon. Depending on the application, the arms use a greaseable adjustable ball joint with SPC's SpecRide bushings or its xAxis sealed flex joints, and they are built from tubular and forged or cast steel. Typical published ranges on the Toyota arms run from 0 to +4 degrees of caster with about 2 degrees of camber either way, though the exact range varies by part number. We can also source SPC alignment hardware such as cam bolts and shims for the same vehicles.

How to choose

Buy them for alignment, not lift: These arms do not add lift by themselves. They earn their place when a leveling kit or lift has pushed caster or camber out of the factory adjustment range and your alignment shop cannot get it back.

Check the part number's range: Caster and camber ranges differ between part numbers, and some GM arms use a fixed caster change rather than a dial-in range. Match the range on the listing to what your alignment printout says you need.

Ball joint or flex joint: The greaseable ball joint versions are serviceable and adjustable. The xAxis flex joint versions pivot freely for more droop but are a sealed design, so there is nothing to grease.

Read the off-road exclusion: SPC's written warranty excludes off-road, racing and competition use. If the truck spends real time on trails, factor that in before choosing these over arms with an off-road-friendly warranty.

Plan on a pro install and alignment: SPC ties its lifetime coverage to professional installation, and the arms need an alignment afterward anyway. Book both at the same shop.

Lead times & shipping

NVMOS dropships every SPC Performance order from the brand or its distributor. In-stock parts usually ship in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Control arm pairs and alignment hardware are compact enough to go by parcel carrier rather than freight, and we send tracking as soon as it is issued.

SPC warranty

SPC assigns every part number one of four warranty categories: limited lifetime, limited one year, limited 90 days or no warranty, and the category for a specific part is shown in SPC's catalog. Coverage is for defects in material or workmanship under normal use, for the original consumer buyer on the original vehicle, and the remedy is repair or replacement at SPC's option. On upper control arms with a lifetime rating, the consumable parts inside the arm, such as ball joints and bushings, are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The lifetime warranty only applies to professionally installed parts, labor and other costs are not covered, and parts that were abused, altered, installed incorrectly or used in racing, competition or off-road are excluded, as are finish and normal wear. Read our SPC warranty summary.

SPC FAQs

Do SPC Performance upper control arms lift my truck?

No. They restore caster and camber adjustment on a truck that has already been lifted or leveled. Lift comes from the spacer, spring or kit you pair them with.

What warranty do SPC upper control arms have?

SPC rates each part number as limited lifetime, one year, 90 days or no warranty. On lifetime-rated arms, the ball joints and bushings inside are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Does the SPC warranty cover off-road use?

No. SPC's written warranty excludes parts used in off-road driving, racing or competition, along with abuse, alteration and incorrect installation.

Do I need a professional install?

For the lifetime warranty to apply, yes. SPC limits lifetime coverage to products installed by a professional technician, and you will need an alignment after the swap regardless.

Will SPC arms fit my Ranger?

SPC lists adjustable upper arms for the 2019-and-later Ford Ranger. Check the listing's model years and drivetrain before ordering.

Who pays labor if an SPC arm fails?

The owner does. SPC repairs or replaces the defective part and excludes labor, time and loss of use.
