Overland Vehicle Systems (OVS) FAQs
Who makes OVS gear?
Overland Vehicle Systems, an overlanding brand based in Santa Fe Springs, California. OVS also owns Ruff Rax, Up Down Air and King 4WD.
What's the difference between OVS XD, HD and LD roof top tents?
XD is the top tier with 320G blackout fabric, a 5000 PU waterproof coating and more included accessories. HD uses 280G fabric with a 3500 PU coating, and LD is the entry line. Warranty runs 6, 4 and 2 years respectively.
Expedition PRO or PRO+ truck cap?
Both are modular marine-grade stainless steel caps with a no-drill clamp install. The PRO+ adds full windows in the side panels, wing doors and rear hatch.
Should I get a 180 or 270 degree awning?
A 180 covers one side of the vehicle. A 270 wraps around the side and the rear, and you order it for the driver or passenger side.
How do caps and tents ship?
Truck caps and bed racks ship by LTL freight with a liftgate, and roof top tents ship by common carrier with curbside delivery. The carrier calls to set up delivery and someone needs to be there.
What does the OVS warranty cover?
Defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser, with length depending on the product line. See our Overland Vehicle Systems warranty summary for the details.
