Most Tundra fog light upgrades come down to one choice: replace the whole lamp in the factory pocket, keep the housing and change only the bulb or trim, or move to an aftermarket bumper that carries its own lights. What fits depends on your body style, because nearly every kit is built around the 2007-2013, 2014-2021 or 2022-on bumper, and some are also limited by trim.

Short answer: Start with a complete LED replacement for your body style, since it sits in the factory location and most kits work with the factory harness and switch. Choose white or yellow next. Then check trim: the 2019-2021 TRD Pro and 2022-on trucks with Rigid fog lights are excluded from some kits, and trucks without factory fog lights need extra parts.

Choosing an upgrade path

There are five ways to change the fog lights on a Tundra. They differ in effort, added light and how much of the factory setup stays.

  • Complete LED replacement. A new lamp or a light-and-bracket kit takes the place of the factory unit. This is usually the simplest route.
  • Bracket plus your own pods. Brackets hold pods you choose in the factory pocket. This suits owners who already have lights or want a particular beam.
  • Bulb swap. The factory housing stays and only the bulb changes. The housing still controls the beam.
  • Halo kits and pre-assembled halo lamps. These add a lit ring for appearance. ORACLE sells both versions for the 2007-2013 and 2014-2018 trucks.
  • Aftermarket bumper. A replacement bumper often has its own light openings, so factory fog lights may not carry over. See our Tundra front bumper guide.

Tundra fog lights by generation

Toyota built the first-generation Tundra from 2000 to 2006, the second from 2007 to 2021 with a major front-end redesign for 2014, and the third from 2022 on. Listings call the 2014-2021 truck either 2.5 Gen or 2nd Gen, so go by model year.

2000-2006 Tundra

We did not find a fog light listing that clearly covers the first-generation truck. One ORACLE LED pair names the Tundra in its title, but it states no years and its description talks only about the Tacoma. Call us before ordering.

2007-2013 Tundra

The Morimoto 4Banger is a plug-and-play kit with adjustable brackets, offered with NCS or HXB pods in white or yellow. Baja Designs has two kits for the factory fog location. The Squadron SAE kit is the one Baja says is built to meet SAE J583 fog lamp requirements, and the Squadron 2.0 Sport kit uses a wide cornering pattern and adapter harnesses that keep the factory switch. The ORACLE LED pair says "w/Metal Bumper" in its title, but the description never explains that limit, so confirm it against your truck. If you run an ARB Sahara bumper on a 2007-2011 truck, ARB offers a 55W halogen fog kit for it.

2014-2021 Tundra

The Baja Designs Squadron-R SAE kit bolts to factory points and uses H11 adapters, so the stock switch stays in use. The Morimoto 4Banger needs no adapter kit. The AlphaRex MKII puts white and yellow in one projector housing. The RIGID 360-Series 4 in. kit comes in white or selective yellow, with bracket assemblies and an H11 plug kit.

The KC HiLiTES FLEX ERA 3 pocket kit includes brackets, shrouds and a wiring kit with no drilling, but KC's two power modes are listed for off-road use only. Cali Raised LED's amber replacement lamps bolt in where the factory assembly sat. That listing's title says 2014-2021 while its web address says 2007-2021, so treat it as 2014-2021 and confirm on the product page.

If you want to pick your own lights, Cali Raised LED sells powder-coated replacement brackets for most standard pods, plus a bracket kit with a pods-and-adapters option. Baja Designs sells a mount-only kit for Squadron 2.0 lights, and RIGID sells a mount kit for a pair of 4 in. 360-Series lights. Lights are sold separately with both.

2022-on Tundra

The Form Lighting replacement is a lamp-for-lamp swap with blacked-out housings, and Form estimates one to two hours with basic tools. The Diode Dynamics SS6 kit uses the existing mounting points, comes in white or yellow, and offers Sport and Pro power levels. Baja Designs fits four lights in the pocket with its S2 SAE kit and S2 Sport Dual kit.

RIGID uses two 6 in. SR-Series lights with brackets and H11 jumpers, in selective yellow or white. The white listing's title says 2022-2026, but its notes say it is designed for 2022-2023, so treat it as a 2022-2023 kit and confirm on the product page. Cali Raised LED's kit also swaps the factory lamps for two 6 in. bars, in amber or white, with no cutting or drilling. The AlphaRex DoubleTap adds a sequential amber turn signal to the dual-color design and is listed through 2025.

Fitment checks that catch people out

  • 2019-2021 TRD Pro. The Baja Designs Squadron-R 2.0 Sport kit for 2014-2021 trucks will not work on these unless you buy the OEM non-TRD Pro fog housing. Other listings do not all address this trim, so ask first.
  • 2022-on trucks with Rigid fog lights. AlphaRex excludes trucks with Rigid fog lights or the Rugged fog light upgrade.
  • Baja Designs S2 on 2022-on trucks. Baja's S2 SAE listing says its S2 fog pocket kits fit the "TRD Limited non-Pro model." That wording is unclear, so confirm your trim.
  • AlphaRex and headlights. A 2022-2025 Tundra with factory LED projector headlights needs the converter option. Trucks with LED reflector or AlphaRex headlights do not. For more on headlight options, see our Tundra headlights guide.
  • Trucks without factory fog lights. AlphaRex says you will need bezels, a harness and a switch. Form Lighting also tells buyers to confirm the truck has factory fogs.
  • RIGID 360-Series on newer trucks. The kit listings run through 2025, the mount kit stops at 2023, and RIGID's SR-Series kit is the one built only for 2022-2026. If you own a 2022-on truck, confirm the fit first.
  • Bumper swaps. The ARB Summit bumper for 2014-2019 trucks is not compatible with OE fog lights, so plan on new lights. ARB's combination kit includes ARB's fog light kit and harness.

White, yellow and what the numbers mean

Lumens describe total light, while candela describes peak intensity. Neither tells you how well a beam works in fog. A fog pattern is wide, low and sharply cut off at the top, which helps keep light under the fog rather than reflecting back at you.

Listed figures show that white usually measures higher than yellow in the same lamp. RIGID lists its 360-Series at 13,733 cd in white and 9,559 cd in selective yellow, and Form lists 3,900 cd and 2,500 cd. RIGID says selective yellow is meant to improve visibility in fog, dust, snow and rain. For more detail, read our yellow vs white LED fog light guide. If you cannot decide, the AlphaRex lights change color when you cycle the fog switch off and on within five seconds.

Kit Years Listed output Listed power Vendor road-use note
Baja Designs Squadron SAE 2007-2013 2,420 lm per light, up to 15,800 cd 29W per light SAE J583
Baja Designs Squadron-R SAE 2014-2021 2,420 lm per light, up to 15,800 cd 29W per light SAE J583
RIGID 360-Series 4 in., white 2014-2021, listed to 2025 3,445 raw lm, 13,733 cd 40W SAE J583
Baja Designs S2 SAE 2022-2026 1,210 lm per light, up to 5,712 cd (four lights in kit) 12.42W per light SAE J583
Form Lighting, white 2022-2026 3,900 cd 7.54W SAE, DOT, FMVSS, CMVSS when aimed properly
RIGID SR-Series 6 in., selective yellow 2022-2026 13,030 cd 1.5-1.9A at 14V SAE, sold as street legal

Vendors report these figures differently, so compare with care. Raw lumens are not measured lumens, and any kit still needs proper aiming. Rules on fog light color, brightness and use vary by state, so check yours.

Bulbs, H11 plugs and wiring adapters

A bulb swap is the smallest change you can make. Check your owner's manual or the bulb in your truck for the size, then browse fog bulbs. A halogen housing is designed around a filament, so an LED bulb may not produce the same clean beam. Some factory fog units may be sealed LED lamps with no replaceable bulb, so look before you buy.

H11 comes up often because several pocket kits for 2014-on trucks connect through it. Baja's Squadron-R SAE kit includes H11 to Weather Pack connectors, and RIGID's 360-Series and SR-Series kits use H11 plugs or jumpers. If you are running pods, Cali Raised LED sells a pair of Deutsch to H11 pigtails so you can plug a pod into the factory harness without cutting it. Cali says they also work with H8 and 880 connectors. At 4.8 inches, they may be too short to work as extensions. The Diode Dynamics SS6 has a Deutsch DT connector, and its listing does not say how it joins the factory harness, so ask before ordering.

Halo kits, overlays and trim

A halo ring is a look, not a beam upgrade. ORACLE offers it in two forms, in white, for 2007-2013 and 2014-2018 trucks. Neither is listed for 2019-2021. The DIY kits for 2007-2013 and 2014-2018 trucks go inside your existing lights, which usually means heating them to soften the sealant and opening them up. ORACLE rates that as advanced work. The pre-assembled lamps for 2007-2013 and 2014-2018 trucks skip that step because the rings are already sealed in, and they plug in as complete assemblies.

For appearance without changing the lights, the Tufskinz accent trim for 2014-2021 trucks is a four-piece peel-and-stick kit with no drilling, in 29 finishes. The EcoOlogical bezel overlays cover the chrome on 2022-2026 trucks with 3M tape. Dry-fit color-matched finishes first, since color-match issues are not returnable. Frequently asked questions

Do 2007-2013 Tundra fog lights fit a 2014-2021 Tundra?

Do not assume they will. The front end changed for 2014, and most kits are sold separately for each body style, so order the version listed for your model year.

Do I have to cut factory wiring?

Usually not. Most vehicle-specific kits use plug-in adapters, H11 jumpers or factory connectors. Baja Designs, Form Lighting and RIGID all describe plug-in connections, but check the listing for the exact kit you choose.

Will these fit a TRD Pro?

Check first. The Baja Designs Squadron-R 2.0 Sport kit will not work on a 2019-2021 TRD Pro without the OEM non-TRD Pro fog housing, and Baja's S2 listing mentions a non-Pro limit on 2022-on trucks. Other listings do not always address this trim, so call before ordering.

My Tundra did not come with fog lights. Can I still add them?

Yes, but it takes more parts. AlphaRex says trucks without factory fog lights need separate bezels, a wiring harness and a switch. Replacement kits that rely on the factory harness assume those parts are already there.

Should I choose white or yellow?

White usually measures higher in vendor figures, while RIGID positions yellow for fog, dust, snow and rain. If you drive in a lot of bad weather, yellow is a sensible place to start, and dual-color lights let you run both.

Are LED fog lights street legal on a Tundra?

It depends on the light and your state. Baja Designs, Morimoto, Form Lighting and RIGID describe some of their kits as SAE compliant, while KC HiLiTES lists the power modes on its FLEX ERA 3 pocket kit for off-road use only. Aim them correctly and check local rules.
