On a Duramax, the MAP sensor lives in an air stream that carries exhaust gas and oil vapor, and it slowly gets coated. This S&B spacer relocates the sensor out of that contaminated flow so it stays cleaner for longer. A clean sensor reads accurately, and accurate readings are what keep power delivery and fuel economy consistent.
The spacer is machined from billet aluminum with a black anodized finish and a machined S&B logo. It cuts soot and oil buildup on the sensor and stretches the interval between cleanings, though it does not eliminate cleaning altogether. The kit is a small part, but it addresses a known nuisance on these diesels.
Fitment
Listed for 2024-2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks with the Duramax L5P 6.6L diesel. If your truck has a different engine, this is not the part.

Why it works
Keeps the L5P's MAP sensor clean
The EGR and PCV systems lower combustion temperature and NOx by routing unburnt exhaust gas and oil vapor back into the combustion chambers. That same flow passes the MAP sensor.
The problem: a clogged MAP sensor
Without the spacer, exhaust gas and sticky oil vapor clog the MAP sensor's electronics and throw off its readings. Bad readings lead to wrong fuel calculations and lower fuel economy and power.
The fix: lift the sensor out of the soot
The S&B spacer relocates the MAP sensor up and out of the contaminated exhaust stream so oily soot can't build up on it.
