Why it works
Keeps the L5P's MAP sensor clean
The EGR and PCV systems lower combustion temperature and NOx by routing unburnt exhaust gas and oil vapor back into the combustion chambers. That same flow passes the MAP sensor.
The problem: a clogged MAP sensor
Without the spacer, exhaust gas and sticky oil vapor clog the MAP sensor's electronics and throw off its readings. Bad readings lead to wrong fuel calculations and lower fuel economy and power.
The fix: lift the sensor out of the soot
The S&B spacer relocates the MAP sensor up and out of the contaminated exhaust stream so oily soot can't build up on it.
